This 16 week workshop is for people who are currently running a business or who plan to open a business for something with which they are familiar with the intent of starting this business during the next 12 months on a part-time or full-time basis. Those already in business should be ready to expand their business. Prospective participants must have a specific kind of business in mind.
Utilizing the Workshop in Business Opportunities “WIBO” curriculum, you will be introduced to each subject through a discussion conducted by a business owner or executive who is a specialist in that phase of running a business. At the end of the discussion, the Discussion Leader will help you plan how to conduct that phase of your business on Planning Sheets in your workbook. The first hour and a half of each week is a review with the Group Leader of the prior week’s homework assignment. This provides peer learning and a significant bonding happens over the 16 weeks and often carries forward after graduation.
About The Entrepreneurship Institute
Based on a successful operation model spanning 40 years, The Entrepreneurship Institute (EI) is designed to take full advantage of the talent pool of business executives and professionals in Palm Beach County to provide enrolled participants with an unparalleled workshop experience. EI is part of a nationally-accredited organization, winning numerous annual awards for its work in providing groundbreaking programming to residents of Palm Beach County.
How to Build a Growing Profitable Business is conducted in sixteen (16) 3 hour classroom sessions. Once a week, each session deals with a different phase of running a business. Each phase of your business is covered in the workbook, which format guides an entrepreneur through a business plan. The workbook is designed to help plan, in written details, how the entrepreneur will conduct every phase of his business. Workshops will take place at the same time and venue each week from 6.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. After the completion of the 16 weeks “mini” practical MBA program, a formal graduation ceremony is held at which graduates receive a certificate of completion. We intend to nurture an Alumni Group who would meet on a regular basis. Hopefully they will thereafter be active in our future 16 week workshops which will be offered more than one time a year.
Admissions Requirements
The Entrepreneurship Institute is for people who are currently running a business or who plan to open a business they are familiar with. It is for anyone who wants to learn how to build a business and what it takes to conduct each phase of that business.
Our 16-week workshop is intense and comprehensive. To get the most out of the workshop, it is critical that those who enroll can complete all of the graduation requirements. When you enroll, as part of the application process, you will be asked a few questions concerning the following important requirements:
Experience: You must understand the technical aspects of the business you have chosen. If you are going to open a butcher shop, you must know how to cut meat.
Commitment: Besides making the commitment of attending all 16 sessions and arriving on time ready to work, it is required that you devote anywhere from 6 – 20 hours outside the classroom completing your Planning Sheet with written plans for conducting that phase of your business.
Initiative: If you are not already in business, we are interested in individuals who plan to start a business in the next 12 months on a part-time or full-time basis. For those already in business, we are interested in entrepreneurs who are ready to take their business to higher levels.
